Z and I took the Q down to Brooklyn today to visit our friend R. It’s long trip, lasting about an hour from the time we left 42nd Street to when we got to Avenue M. We roamed around that area for a while before discovering that Gossip Girl was filming in Brooklyn, on Court and Congress Streets.
We ran down there, crazy excited. As it snowed, we stood outside staring at the trailers. They were huge and everywhere! I’ve been on the set of Ugly Betty (turns out the apartment she “lives” in is right down the street) and the set-up wasn’t nearly as elaborate as that of Gossip Girl. But either way, it was amazing to see.
Z, R, and I were clad in bright red Santa Claus hats which kept our ears warm from the snow. The film crew, it turns out, was much amused by them. Either way, we stood across the street and stared at the set.
Finally, our patience was rewarded! Matthew Settle, who plays Rufus Humphrey on the show, walked out. And then Blake Lively! Matthew must have noticed us (I guess it was hard not too with our bright red hats) and waved. This gave R the courage to shout from across the street and ask for a picture, which he sweetly did. He’s such a nice guy and absolutely gorgeous!
How did we find out about this? That’s a secret we’ll never tell. XOXO
