This Isn’t Really an Update but a List of Places You Can Go to Actually Read Something

16 Jun

I’ve been antisocial this summer. So antisocial that I think it’s time for me to color my hair black and lock myself in a closet playing really loud angry music while crying about how no one really understand me but dammit it’s a good thing because it means I’m unique. Only my hair is nearly black already so it’d be pretty pointless to dye it and I’ve never done anything chemical to my hair and I’m not going to start now. But still. I’m going to go sit in my closet. Sobbing.

Except I won’t really be in my closet. I’ll be out by the pool. And I won’t be crying. I’ll be tanning. Being antisocial is a privilege, if you can believe it.

I live in a small town. Whenever I go to a store, I see someone I know. I wore high-heels to Church on Sunday morning and you should have seen the stir it caused. There were whispers and people pointing and couldn’t you just tell that New York had ruined me? Oh and since I’m in New York, I’m automatically aware the City’s entire history and criminal records. Sure, go ahead and question me on information that only you and that lonely kid that edits Wikipedia knows.

I’ve been trying my best to avoid seeing many people I know. I get enough crowds in front of Penn Station. I like not leaving my house except to go to Church, work, and the beach. I’ve stopped answering emails unless they’re really important. I’ve given up Twitter. Facebook? What’s that?

I’ve been spending time outside, reading and sunning and talking with my mom. It’s been lovely.

Along with that, I’ve also been online. And since I’m on a half-vacation, I figure I ought to entertain ya’ll with what I do when I get online.

Top Gear’s new series starts on Sunday (check out the trailer!). However, since I have to obtain it using other methods, I watch on Mondays. Seriously people. Watch this part of an episode of Top Gear. It’s brilliant.

Along with Top Gear, I’ve been watching Judge Judy here.

There are also a few sites I’ve been perusing.

Hilariously wonderful

Blogs

Celebrity Crap

Fashion

And now I have a question for ya’ll. Which sites should I be reading? What websites do you visit every day?

“Sure, go ahead and question me on information that only you and that lonely kid that edits Wikipedia knows.”

I love that line! You are such a fantastic writer.

The margarita mcflurry one was my favorite. Haha. It reminded me of a couple of my friends who would do something similar.

There are so many hilarious ones on that site. I only thought of saving them after going through like 80 pages of it. Clearly, I have too much time on my hands. Your friends sound fun though. =)

When I read this, I marvel at the science of genetic recombination, how genes are passed from one generation to the next, and think, “how in God’s name I can I be related to you”. Nice post sis.

Hands down, my favorite fashion blog is La Couturier. (http://lacouturiernyc.wordpress.com/) I also like Style-ish. (http://www.iamstyle-ish.com/)

Swistle is a hilarious writer – think David Sedaris with five children and a fondness for Target. (http://swistle.blogspot.com/)

Post Secret is also great, but it only updates on Sunday mornings. (http://postsecret.blogspot.com/)

    Happy blog reading! :)

It’s funny that you mentioned La Couturier. She’s actually my friend Michelle‘s really good friend in real life. I haven’t checked out Style-ish or Swistle but it sounds good. I totally forgot about Post Secret, which I check religiously. Thanks for the links, I’m really tempted to read them RIGHT NOW but I have to go to work and, knowing me, I’ll spend the time I ought to be getting dressed in laughing.

Thank you for the update on the list Ania! I’m definitely going to check those out.

You seem to be having a great relaxing summer, and I really wish I could just take a plane down there to join you, cept I don’t particularly like tanning.

Ha, I just linked La Couturier to this blog – I’m sure she’ll be very excited about seeing that.

Thanks for the support with everything, my blog, my life !

Love you and Miss you, and can’t wait for the upcoming semester! <3
