That sounds pretty awesome. What kind of sentences do they read?

I haven't read The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. I'll definitely check if my library has it. Hopefully it will but it didn't even have Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas.

My thesis is about the processing of language. I've been doing an EEG-research, measuring people's brainwaves when they're reading certain kinds of sentences. I can get ridiculously excited about it but most people tend to find it quite boring, so I'll spare you the details ;) Let's leave it at the fact that we've been getting some pretty cool results.

I've read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for my English class and it's been one of my favourites ever since. I've read 1984 as well, but none of the others. I'm going to clear out the library soon!

Have you read The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers? Loved it. Too bad it's not on the list, I definitely think it deserves a spot.

What's your thesis about? And I just checked out your blog. Out of your movies, I've only seen 15. I need to get on that!

Hm... books that you definitely should read this summer? The last one I read (apart from Harry Potter because I'm re-reading all those) was Pop Apocalypse by Lee Konstantiou. It was pretty good. My favorite books ever are probably The Bell Jar, On The Road, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Fahrenheit 451, The Yellow Wallpaper, and 1984. If you've read those, let me know and I'll try and think of more.

On first glance I'd say about 50 or so, maybe a bit more (how disappointing!). I'm working hard on my thesis right now so I don't have much time. But I've got 'Madame Bovary' and 'Anna Karenina' lying here on top of my "to read" stack.
Can't wait till summer. I'm definitely going to do some serious reading. Any recommendations?

Thanks! I thought I had read quite a lot, but looking at this list I know I still have a long way to go. I'm definitely going to try to read them all though.
Any idea how many you've read so far?

It's a "read before you die" list. I actually borrowed it from some website so you're welcome to do the same. I found it because I got tired of annoying the librarian and asking for recommendations every time I walked in.

Great list!
Have you read every single book on it? Or is it more of an books-I-want-to-read-before-I-die-list? I might 'steal' it from you as such, if you don't mind, that is.
